Workday Terminology Guides and Icon Glossary

 

To highlight some of the more commonly used terminology that will be changing as we transition from our existing systems to Workday:

Old Term New Term Definition
Accounts Payable Supplier Accounts The term "Accounts Payable" is now referred to as "Supplier Accounts," but the core concept remains the same.
Accounts Receivable Customers The term "Accounts Receivable" is now referred to as "Customers," but the core concept remains the same.
CER (Capital Expenditure Reports) Project This replaces the PeopleSoft approved CER. Also shown in Workday as Capital Project.
Fixed Asset Business Asset This replaces the PeopleSoft Fixed Asset.
HR (Human Resources) HCM (Human Capital Management) This envelops all of the functions of Human Resources (recruiting, training, payroll, compensation, etc.).
Training Learning The term "Training" is now referred to as "Learning", but it still relates to training and learning resources.
Unit Cost Center The term “Unit(s)” are now referred to as “Cost Centers”, but still refer to the individual GSI locations
